To see the trajectories of the partial expressions, if I assume 3-step period even for the convergent case, where f0=f1=f2

convergent - unfurcated

convergent: trifurcated, but in limit f0=f1=f2

tri-furcation , but this converges if infinite height is assumed

tri-furcation without convergence
