Literature & links - Gottfried - 10/09/2009 I propose to collect our unsorted references and links to online sources in a single thread. Best would be, that references could be abstracted/commented. I just begin with one current finding... Lit: regular iteration/Schröder-function - Gottfried - 10/09/2009 http://arxiv.org/abs/0909.2424v2 Evolution profiles and functional equations Authors: Thomas Curtright, Cosmas Zachos (Submitted on 14 Sep 2009 (v1), last revised 26 Sep 2009 (this version, v2)) Abstract: Time evolution is formulated and discussed in the framework of Schroeder's functional equation. The proposed method yields smooth, continuous dynamics without the prior need for local propagation equations. Lit: Schröder's article 1871 (german) - Gottfried - 10/09/2009 Schröder, Ernst; "Über iterirte Funktionen" ("about iterated functions") http://gdz.sub.uni-goettingen.de/dms/load/img/?IDDOC=26000 This is a digitized version of the original article in Mathematische Annalen, Band 3, 1871, lang:german He describes his method for interpolation of functional iteration first time, introducing the concept of an auxiliary invertible function, which is specific for the function to be iterated. That auxiliary function maps the parameter x such that iteration of the original function is replaced by x1 = map(x), x2 = x1* coefficient^<iteration-height>, y=inverse map(x2) A couple of example-functions are provided. Online literature database - bo198214 - 10/09/2009 I dont know whether a thread is a good container for a literature list. I started an online literature database a while ago. Though originally only for my own purpose. http://eretrandre.org/rb/ There you can search for articles and output the results as bibtex or other formats. Though only as registered user you can add new articles. Not sure how to handle this in the future. Currently it contains 190 articles (though also from other fields). I am willing to maintain the DB and add all articles that will be mentioned on the forum. For lots of articles also the paper as pdf is added (though not publically accessible, but available for private transfer.) The page is based on the software refbase, which needed though several manual adaptions to be tailored to the use of (la)tex. Either a sticky topic in "General Discussion and Questions" or some additional link beside "About, Search, Memberlist ...". Quote:How could I add references? Is there an option to add notes/abstracts/tags in refbase? I can add you as a member. Yes, "abstract" and "tags" are standard fields. You can import from bibtex and other formats. (I usually go to Zentralblatt or AMSReviews and use their bibtex entries to add it to refbase). You can also add personal notes, and add personal copies of the article. It's really disgusting... Gottfried RE: Literature & links - Gottfried - 01/03/2010 A most interesting treatize of iteration of polynomials.
